“Dancing makes people feel great, it builds confidence, and encourages socialization. It’s wonderful to empower individuals to have a healthy life physically and emotionally.”
Diane was born and raised in New Jersey and has taken Ballet, Tap, and Jazz since age four. Diane’s family owned a Portuguese restaurant with live music on the weekends. She grew up Portuguese partner dancing in this environment, as all of her family’s customers loved to dance! Her extensive dance background combined with her teaching experience make her a compassionate, knowledgeable instructor.
Although Diane grew up partner dancing, she began teaching Latin dances in 2008 and she became a Go Dance instructor in 2009. Diane loves traveling to Salsa Congresses in various countries. She is also a member of Collective Essence, an all ladies Latin performance group that is currently performing around the Austin area as well as at Congresses worldwide. You can often catch Diane performing with Collective Essence in our Showcase, or helping teach Collective Essence workshops here at Go Dance!
With a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development and Education and a Graduate degree in Multicultural Special Education, Diane is an experienced instructor who teaches with heart and determination. She enjoys meeting new students and watching them progress in their dancing. Diane also teaches with patience, humor, kindness, and passion. She is a true advocate of learning, and she knows that the best way a person can really “get” material is to teach it. Diane enjoys sharing dance with her students and seeing them become empowered by dance, just as dance empowers her.
