Dances Taught: Ballroom, Salsa & Club Latin, Swing, Country, Wedding

Eric grew up in Kent, WA. As a kid, he loved both sports and music; playing baseball, football, piano, and violin. While in graduate school to become a psychotherapist, Eric was inspired by the movie “Strictly Ballroom” to try ballroom dancing. He immediately realized that dancing, and using it as a vehicle to help others grow, was his life’s purpose, and he has been teaching since 2008. An explorer at heart, Eric has lived in South Korea, Australia, South Africa, New York, Arizona, and Southern California before choosing Austin as his home.

Because of his own experience, Eric connects well with students who are coming to dance as adults and he loves helping them learn so they can find out how fulfilling an endeavor it is. He advises new dancers to be patient with themselves and remember to have fun while working towards their goals. Dance is a never-ending journey for Eric, and he enjoys competing professionally and performing in showcases with his students as well.

Fun Fact: Off the dance floor, Eric loves running and keeping up with the latest technology, as well as tinkering with computers and playing video games.
