“Dancing is a universal language with no right or wrong. It’s a way to forget your day’s stresses or celebrate the day’s joys.”

Allie Jones

Master Tier Instructor
Specialty: Country
Dances Taught: Country, Salsa & Club Latin, Ballroom, Swing, Wedding, Youth

Allie was born and raised in Adkins, a small town outside of San Antonio. She was a competitive gymnast for 12 years, during which she won three national team titles. After retiring from competing, she coached gymnastics and tumbling while acquiring BAs in Cultural Anthropology, English, and Spanish. Allie was always drawn to dancing, spending her childhood free time at a country dancehall. She has fond memories of twirling around with her mother in their living room while listening to their favorite Sinatra records. Pursuing her dancing dreams, Allie joined Go Dance in 2014 teaching Country, Swing, Salsa, and Ballroom.

Allie’s favorite part about teaching is seeing the transformations occur in her students from the day they walk into the studio. With years of working with many gymnastics and dance coaches, she has developed the ability to modify her approach to teaching based on what she sees is working best for each student. Allie is patient, enthusiastic, and believes lessons should always be a balance of having fun and making progress towards an individual’s goals.

Fun Fact: Off the dance floor, Allie loves the wide variety of live music available in Austin and exploring her foodie side, trying out new restaurants and food trucks around town!
